New and old photoshoots + Inception trailer and photos + Cillian makes art for charity + 2010 releases? + new staff

We're catching up on some news here at The CillianSite, and we have a bunch of goodies for you!

Portraits new and improved

Photographer Jean Luc Morales recently posted four lovely new portraits of Cillian, which we've added to the section of our Gallery. In older Cillian photo news, we've just replaced some of our photos from a Rankin photoshoot with higher quality versions. Head over to the gallery for a look!

Inception's early blockbuster marketing moving ahead

Two posters for Inception have been revealed; we've added them to a new Inception promo gallery. And a second official trailer, this time including a few fleeting glimpses of our man, has been released:

Cillian's blue angel

Cillian's angel

Early December, Cillian participated in decorating one of 50 8-foot-tall angel sculptures for charity. RTÉ News reports that the Dublin Castle exhibition is meant to bring "a message of hope" to Ireland, with angels adorned by national celebrities. According to The Independent,

Nollaig Fahy, creator of the "Angels—Beacons of Hope" exhibition said: "The deal was I would gift them an angel and paint, and their only instruction was to show the nation their interpretation of hope. We realized early on there would be some issues about the standard and so we asked graduates to come on board. We had 15 artists from those colleges and they helped with some concepts also. Some celebrities came up with their own concepts and allowed the artists to interpret that while others did it all themselves."

The show's website explains that three charities will benefit from the proceeds of auctioning the angels in March 2010, after a nationwide tour. A vote-for-your-favorite-angel page on the site is under construction.

Perrier's delayed... Peacock too?

IrelandOn-Line reports that Perrier's Bounty will be coming to theaters in Ireland sometime in 2010, exact date unknown. Still no hint of North American distribution. And another Cillian film that was supposed to come out in 2009, the intriguing Peacock, is completely AWOL in the news. Hopefully it will also be released in 2010.

New staff

We are happy to announce that the indefatigable Nairin78, who's long sent us valuable Cillian news items, has officially joined our staff, as a news correspondent—effective as of the previous blog entry. Hooray!

Thanks to Jessica for emailing us about the new trailer, and to Luthy for the pics!

Thanks so much for the update! Loving the new pics (as I tend to do whenever I come across a pic of Cillian I've not seen before!) And feeling very intrigued by the Inception trailers! I'm really looking forward to when this movie comes out!

Cillian and Danny Boyle work beautifully together. Danny can make any movie awesome no matter the premise. Is it sick to become a fan of Ewan McGregor in Trainspotting just because he played a heroin junkie? Cillian is no stranger to dark and crazy roles and yes, I would love to see him in that movie. Why not? Anyway, it looks as if Franco will play Aron Ralston after all. That should be an interesting one for Boyle and I still look forward to some of the other recent Cillian films that seem to be standing still at the moment.

Elisa... you would love for him to be in a movie about an adrenaline-junkie dimwit whose recklessness leads him to have to hack off his own arm? Me, I'm praying someone at Fox gives Danny a great big "NO" right in the side of the head for that idea. Some idiot nearly gets himself killed doing something risky, and we're all supposed to go "WHAT A PORTRAIT OF COURAGE!!!"? Boyle does his own version of "Jackass: The Movie," and Cillian yodels "I'm IN!"? Here's hoping it doesn't happen.

The angel is beautiful. Still no news on Cillian's role in the new Danny Boyle film? I would love if that were true!
