First look at Broken
ScreenTerrier.blogspot.com has given us a "First look at Broken" in their February 18 blog. The movie promises excitement and twists, as well as a stellar cast that includes Cillian, Tim Roth and newcomer Eloise Laurence. The film, currently in post-production, has an anticipated release date in 2013, giving us already something new from Cillian to look forward to next year. While Cillian's character is not revealed in the blog, an official synopsis of the film is given to tantalize us until the official trailer is released. Enjoy!
Cillian wins big
Not surprisingly, Cillian recently picked up the Best Actor award at The Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards, held at Royal Hospital Kilmainham, in Dublin, Ireland, for his role as Thomas Magill in Misterman. Cillian was naturally humble and generous in his acceptance speech:
I only have two words for this really: Enda Walsh. Fifteen years ago he gifted me a career with his play Disco Pigs and 15 years later he gifted me the part of Thomas Magill in Misterman. You can read more about the ceremony and awards here.
Red Lights interviewed and reviewed
Although I much prefer the English trailer since the Spanish trailer has Cillian's voice dubbed with a Spanish actor, in between parts of this Spanish trailer you can hear Cillian's speaking with a beautiful Irish lilt as he explains his attraction to Red Lights.
We've also uncovered Dread Central's Q&A transcript with Rodrigo Cortés as he tries to respond to questions and complaints about Red Lights. Rodrigo describes Cillian's performance in the movie as "an amazing transformation" as he goes from an innocent boy scout type to a disturbed and obsessed person. While the accompanying review is disappointing, there is hope that the film will have some editing that often occurs after Sundance openings that will save its box office appeal. Despite the reviews, the trailer clearly shows Cillian as a central figure in the film and looks exciting and terrifying all at once.
Lastly, FilmTrophy.com has posted four close-up posters of the main actors in Red Lights with thought-provoking ideas from the movie. Cillian's poster does not disappoint. To see all of the characters, check them out here.
