Lots of Cillian news this month, starting with the latest on Misterman, which has the biggest buzz of the Galway Arts Festival. This is a new version of a play written 13 years ago by Enda Walsh; in case you missed it, here's the teaser video. As we reported earlier, this one-man show is the first time Cillian and Walsh have worked together since Disco Pigs, the theatrical production that got them noticed well beyond the 1996 Corcadorca Festival.
Misterman is a dark, occasionally humorous look inside the mind of a killer; Walsh describes it further in this video. Mounting a play is expensive, especially these days, and Landmark Productions, the company staging Misterman, has started a fund drive to support it; you can check out a description here. There's also a contest to win programs and posters signed by Cilly — sweet!
In movie news, the poster for Red Lights was unveiled on this cool Spanish sci-fi site. Here's a translation of the main part: "Red Lights tells how a psychologist (Weaver) and one of her students (Olsen) conducted a study related to the world of the paranormal. For this reason, they began to investigate a renowned seer (De Niro). Red Lights is scheduled to be released in theaters next year.
And the suspense over Cillian's thriller Retreat is (almost) over: The movie will be shown in U.S. theaters! Rippleworld.com reports that the North American rights were snagged by Sony. Check back here for release dates, updates, and more news!
