Cillian is slated to star in an upcoming BBC Films production of a modern-day To Kill a Mockingbird aptly titled Broken. To be directed by theatre director Rufus Norris, Broken is adapted from a novel by Daniel Clay and will be set in northern England. The head of BBC Films, Christine Langon, has described the film as dark, with a note of redemption, set in a small community rife with distrust and hatred. Keep an eye out for more updates when filming begins. To read the entire story, click here. At Amazon.com, you can scroll down the page and read the first chapter of the book. Further down there is an interview with the author about the story.
In other news, Cillian recently helped the Corcadorca Theater Company celebrate their 20th anniversary with an appearance at their "In Conversation With Corcadorca" event on May 19. In the 30-minute interview (which was filmed by Corcadorca; check back for a link soon), Cillian discussed his work on stage with Corcadorca, as well as some of his film roles, and he answered questions from the audience.
