First image of Cillian in Perrier's Bounty

Cillian Murphy and Jim Broadbent

Well, it's a small photo, but here's our first glimpse of Cillian (with Jim Broadbent) in Perrier's Bounty. He's looking very early-28 Days Later..., isn't he? I suppose when you're on the run, there's no time to shave.

The Irish Film Board has a page up for Perrier's, featuring this little picture, and offering a few more tidbits for fans:

  • It's getting a late-2009 release—a good time of year for a film to be released, awards-wise, but there's no word on when other countries will get Perrier's.
  • The film takes place over the course of 24 hours.
  • And young English actor Jodie Whittaker is the fourth lead, and thus Cillian's romantic interest, the third character on the run from gangster Perrier (Brendan Gleeson).

i was in this film for a few scenes, i was there when they are burying the gangsters dogs, the chase scene ( dont think it made the film ) and the final funeral scene..... it looks good

Thanks for the update! Cillian does look like did in 28 Days Later... which is definitely not a bad thing! :) I can't wait for this movie! If it's good like Intermission was, I'll be so happy, but I'm crossing my fingers that it'll be a surprise hit like In Bruges (which I loved!) was last year. I'm wishing all the best with this movie!

Right, I remember seeing that interview appear when the site just had no way of covering much:

But it mentions nothing about the cast members you mention, and they are not listed on IMDb or The Irish Film Board site. Do you have another source to cite? And do you have a source that you'd like to share with the rest of us for the festivals? I'm sure fans would love to be able to go see the ones near where they live.

They've been using that picture in most of the publicity since December. Cillian was asked about the film earlier this year and said that he plays "a fella out of his depth, as usual" and described it as "a weird, black comedy set in the Dublin underworld". He also commented on the cast which includes Liam Cunningham, Padraic Delaney and Domhnall Gleeson. The film will begin the festival circuit shortly.

Nice to see something from this film - and I am crossing my fingers that we will get a release here in the US. Otherwise, it will be a lonnnnnng wait till DVD....
