Blogcritics' Chris Beaumont recently reviewed Watching the Detectives, and his opinions sound much like those that many Cillian fans have already voiced:

Have you ever seen a movie that you really liked, despite knowing that it is not really a good film? ... For me, Watching the Detectives is one of those movies.

Although Beaumont cites serious faults with the plot, he gave credit to the "considerable chemistry" between Cillian and Lucy Liu as the reason the film is so enjoyable.

In other Detectives news, another possible North American DVD cover has been added to the gallery. We'll have to wait until August to find out which of these covers, if any, makes it to the box.

Extra's account of Cillian's near bicycle accident

Sunshine, an extra on the set of Peacock, blogged today about her single day's work experiences. She happened to be working on a day when Cillian was present at the shoot, riding a bicycle through what will represent Peacock's town square. Although she did not have a personal encounter with him, she did witness a potentially frightening moment for Cillian as he biked on set:

[O]ne of the people driving one of the old cars in the scene about ran over [Cillian]. An assistant director was standing by me when that happened and I'm like, "Yeah, that'd be kind of bad to kill the star of the movie at this point, huh?" and he goes, "You know, you could even run over somebody with 4th or 5th billing ... just don't kill the star."

Luckily, she assures us that Cillian was unharmed, but it's not completely clear if this incident could simply have been part of filming.

I am sorry but they have got to find a better cover pic for him. If you are not a Cillian connoisseur like we are- that picture of him will not inspire someone to join our cause. It just won't. He is much more beautiful than that pic gives him credit for.

I don't know what I would have done if he had gotten hurt or died. That would have been horrible!!! Thank the gods he's okay!!

I like this cover. It's cute. It adds something to the movie but is not all over the place.

I'm really glad that he's OK. Pretty scary what happened there.

Cillian is not allowed to die. oh and wow that's so cool i didn't know that he could ride a bike. no wait ha ha yes i did he rode a bike in over the edge. i hope that he's okay.

And I hope that old car is part of the set not an outsider...CILLIAN RULES! HIS TALENTED AND HE DOSNT DISERVE TO DIE! (He got a family, so,please, keep him alive forever). This was a great cover at least...love Cilly....

I hope it was a part of the filming. Him dead would suck, especially for his folks.
