Peacock's retro feel explained

Actress Leigha Horton recently blogged that she had some difficulty deciding if she should accept the opportunity to work on Peacock:

Turns out the braces-in-my-faces ended up making the decision for me. I was told that the movie was set in the mid-60s. ... I can't imagine that braces in a movie would be a big deal, except for the fact that the braces I have today were not invented until 1972.

So Cillian's brown suit and short tie may be merely 1960's fashion, not just his character's poor fashion sense—phew!

This movie just keeps sounding better and better...I think it's gonna be great. If they're trying to get it out before the year ends it's because they think it's got a shot at the awards season.....the editor of Defamer said in one of his blog entries that he read the script because one of his friends is involved in it and it's "effing brilliant"

I'm really excited about this movie!!!

Saw what looked like a '66 tan Ford Fairlane (John's car) and maybe a '66 Chevy Impala, light green or blue (I'm a little bit blue-green colorblind), the days I was there. The cop car, from a distance, was a classic black 'n' white Ford or Chrysler. Probably a Plymouth Fury, come to think of it. Makes sense that the movie's set in the Sixties: there's a forensics twist in the story that wouldn't hold water in modern times.

Interesting that things seemed more '50s. But of course in small town Nebraska in the mid-60s, bank clerks and other "squares" were probably not looking too groovy yet.

I was surprised when I read that it is set in the 60's. When I was there the apparel appeared to be more 50's..very interesting. Can't wait to see it!
