More Detectives release news + gallery updates

Liebe lieber ungewöhnlich

Watching the Detectives continues its DVD release around the globe with the film scheduled for release in Germany on 25 July. Judging by the DVD cover, the distributors have chosen to focus on the film's quirky romance rather the film noir aspect. If there are any German speakers out there feel free to add a comment giving us a translation of the title. The wait is also over for Cillian fans Down Under, as the DVD is now available in Australia. North American distributor Peace Arch has also sold the film to Bowline for distribution in the Czech and Slovakian markets, although it isn't stated whether it will be a theatrical or DVD release.

Gallery additions

We've updated our gallery to include five new Detectives stills and two posters for Waveriders, the surfing documentary narrated by Cillian.

Thinking of what I just said - 'Beware of Violet' sounds really good to me as a translation. ^^

I am not from Poland, but I googled 'uwaga' and the translation seems to be "attention" (in the sense of 'watch out'). 'Violet' is the name of Lucy's character in the movie.
Hm.. but as I see it Neil is the one who has to be careful, huh?

Yes! I have just got the Polish version too, thank goodness the Polish subtitles can be turned off! I bought it on-line and silly me thought I had made a mistake when I saw the title Uwaga Violet and hoped it wasn't dubbed like a 1970's Chinese Kung Fu export movie! Thank goodness for the rise and rise of DVD technology!
Hee!

The subtitle means "a relationship with obstacles" as well.

Hm, reminds me of the German "A life less ordinary" - title, the movie with Cameron Diaz and Ewan McGregor. But instead of 'life' they put 'love' in it. So the German title could be translated as
"A love less ordinary". But exactly it means: "Better to love in an uncommon way", I would say.

(And yay!! Can't wait for the movie to come out. ^^)
