Film site OutNow.ch has some new production stills from The Edge of Love, including this new one of Cillian as William Killick entertaining his wife and friends with a song. Or maybe Keira Knightley is singing? I wonder if Cillian is really playing piano—and what's the song?

He reminds me of my brother...my brother is underweight, loves to work out---chain smoker/borderline alcoholic. Of course, with Cillian it's just the running and smoking and underweight part...so I guess he doesn't REALLY remind me of my brother. Just a little bit.

Exactly, Emilia. I've also seen many photos and video clips of him smoking in real life, and I've never read that he's quit. Maybe he has, but maybe he hasn't.

Even if the cigarettes on set are fake -- though I'm not sure how we'd know this -- we don't know if that's for Cillian's benefit or for that of the cast and crew around him.

Hey all. The cigarette in the movie may be fake, but I remember seeing pics of Cillian on the set with Sienna Miller in which he was smoking for pleasure. They were not shooting during that time. If I am correct. It could be that Cillian is still a smoker. Has anyone personally read that he quit?

Realy, the cigarette is fake...it have its trick..only a real person could find it...in this case...Cillian (Scarecrow).

I love this picture of Cillian on EDGE OF LOVE. I think this is the scene were Keira sings one of her songs in the movie and Cillian shows his skills on the piano. And about that cigarette, its fake. In the acting they use this kind of trick with it, and when you blow, smoke comes out, but you actualy are not smoking. Its serious!
So, if you think Cillian is smoking in this scene, please, note that is a fake cigarette, and its use too on plays, and other things in movies.
Im studying this, and is so fun!!!!
I realy enjoy this! LOVE YA CILLIAN!

My impression, from print and video interviews, is that Cillian is still a habitual smoker, though of course I don't know for sure, since I don't know him.

I also remember that at some point he disparaged actors who don't smoke for being really easy to pick out as non-smokers when they play smokers onscreen.

It's a dirty habit, for sure, but he's still a lovely boy.

I know plenty of people who smoke regularly and have lived very long (namely, the french). I'm not exactly promoting it, but it's a personal choice and if it's just to portray a character I'm down with it. I doubt he's a habitual smoker, but never the less, I've seen photoshoots with him having a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, I suppose it gives one a 'cool' image.

Umm, this is to poxy. I know that smoking is bad but what makes you think those are actual cigarettes he's smoking? There are plenty of examples of actors smoking fake cigarettes in movies. Also, even if they were real, it's not like he's a pack-a-day type of smoker. At least, that's what I know. I heard that he quit long time ago. But I'm not sure.

i feel bad for him for smoking. he won't live as long now and that's really really depressingly sad. smoking is bad!!!
