New Top 5: the directors Cillian should work with

The CillianSite Top 5 is back! This time we look to future creative possibilities for Cillian with the topic Top 5 Living Directors Cillian Murphy Should Work With. The readers and staff have imagined Cillian working with directors whose styles are dreamy and intimate, bloody and in-your-face, quirky and fantasy-driven. It's a nice range, and I certainly hope that some of the hookups on our wish lists come to pass!

We'd love to hear from you via the comments about who you think we missed, if you have similar ideas, or if there's anything else you'd like to share.

We'd like to thank Bonnie, Lexi, Marina, Mistress Kizuna, and QuietOne for playing The CillianSite Top 5 game with us.

Cillians' future films...

Great ideas everyone! I only have one dream for a director I'd love to see Cillian work with so I couldn't play the Top 5 game. Nick Park, the beloved creator of Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run animated films. I've always thought it would be something fun Cillian could do for Malachy to see and I bet Nick could create something really special just for him. I love all Nick Parks films and I'd love to see Cillian do something animated--sort of like a Finding Nemo just for Cillian.

I would chosen Tim as my number 5, but Sofia passed him after I saw Lost in Translation a month ago. Instant fave

Awwww, man. So I guess it's too late to send my list, huh? No biggie, I don't think I have a full list but I just wanted to say that it'd be cool if he worked with Judd Apatow. If you haven't heard of him he's the guy who directed such films as Anchorman, Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Superbad, and others. I thought of this because I remember him (Cillian) saying that he wanted to do a comedy and he did that with Watching the Detectives a while back. I just think that Judd's a genius for making really funny and smart comedies.

I also think that he should work with Steven Spielberg. Now I think everyone knows his work and who he is so I don't think I should list his works. I just feel that he's a good, well-known director who can make a much deserved star out of Cillian.

Well, that's all the directors I can think of for now. Just putting my two cents in. I also want to point out that I agreed with whoever put Woody Allen in their list as well as whoever suggested Clint Eastwood. Tim Burton and Quentin Terantino and Robert Rodriguez are also very good choices. So's Ang Lee, Sophia Coppola, Martin Scorcese... I can go on and on, you guys know your cinema!

any chance of another crack at top 5 Cillian scenes?

Mine would be:

5.The bathroom scence in Red Eye
4.All of Breakfast on Pluto
3.That great speech in The Wind that shakes the barley (when they were captured by the Black & Tans and Teddy was tortured)
2.Saving Serena in 28 days later and That bloody kiss
1. The whole of One The Edge - but especially the scene where he is describing what driving off a cliff felt like to Stephen Rea's character and the one where he's joking about taking the suicide pledge.

Actually i could go on and on and I haven't even mentioned Disco Pigs!!
