More additions to the Hippie gallery

We have a few more pictures of Cillian and his co-stars relaxing between takes on the set of Hippie Hippie Shake. Unfortunately the pictures are tagged but they do offer a first look at Nina Liu, an Australian actress who plays Jenny Kee, Richard Neville's other love interest. Richard had relationships with both Louise Ferrier and Jenny and later, in the spirit of the free loving '60s, they engaged in a ménage à trois.

Sunshine on DVD in January

According to VideoETA, the North American (Region 1) release of the Sunshine DVD is scheduled for 8 January 2008; however, as always, keep in mind that release dates are subject to change. There are no details on any special features but the Region 2 version was packed with extras so hopefully we can look forward to the same. Cillian fans in the U.K. might also be interested in the newly released Danny Boyle Collection, a three DVD box set containing Sunshine and 28 Days Later… as well as The Beach.

I read recently that Sienna Miller is 5'6", and I think Cillian seems a few inches taller than her in most of the pics.

My guess is that Cillian is probably 5'9", certainly no shorter than 5'8".

Ahh, but Sienna's wearing those groovy sixties platform heels....

Another "quoted" 5'9 is Naomie Harris. She and Cillian seemed to be pretty much on nose-bumping level in "28 Days Later"....

5'9 Seems like a stretch! That's kind of the typically quoted male celebrity height, but I think he's a bit shorter than that. How tall is Sienna, they seem to be about the same height.

I read somewhere that he's 5'9. I've stood next to him; I'm 5'3, and he was about six inches taller than me in similar Martens, so I think 5'9 is about right. He might appear shorter because he's so finely built: close up, he seems strong but ethereal-- if that makes sense....

About the smoking-- man, I wish he'd stop! I'm edging into middle age, and I've seen enough family members and friends' family members come down with horrifying smoking-related illnesses to have lost all patience with it. I know it seems to be an "acting thing," or a "U.K. acting thing," but please, Cillian: GIVE IT UP.

Side note: in "Hippie Hippie Shake," the book, Neville keeps saying "no" to pot 'cause he's a nonsmoker. Or at least he is for now...!

I really wonder about his height. I have a feeling they make him wear lifts in his shoes sometimes. He can't be taller than 5'7.

Thanks everyone. I guess guys getting piercings
was the thing to do a while back(the ears were the easiest and least painful). I'm glad Cillian only had his left ear done. Tatoos are now the new thing(everyone seems to have them).

I think he got his ear pierced in his teens when he was in a band and pretending to be a rock star. It used to be more cool for guys to have an earing. He probably liked the look and it fit with the whole rock star vibe thing he had going on.

In some photos you can clearly see a hole in his left earlobe...I think it's real. I'm thinking that he either got it pierced for a role or he was VERY young and VERY VERY drunk. But ya never know.

He also had that earring in the Irish language film he did (can't recall the name). I guess his ear is peirced.
