But wait, there's more Hippie pics!

Looks like we'll be getting many photos from Hippie Hippie Shake, thanks to the tabloids' obsession with Sienna Miller. Better shots of the anti-war protest scene just popped up at JustJared.com. Calling hair and makeup: bad wig alert for Cillian—his real hair is showing!

Heh heh. Agreed about better hair people on "Girl With a Pearl Earring" and "Sunshine"!

They wanted him to look more like Brian Cox for "Sunshine." And no: they don't need to wait. And yes: this is why I should keep my mouth shut and my fingers off the keyboard. Thoughts get to running, and sometimes I make the mistake of trying to keep up with 'em. But couldn't Those In Charge hire slightly better hair people? Oh, hell: never mind....

In all cases you mention, his hair didn't have time to grow long enough in time. Cillian may not be impaired in the hair department, but I doubt that "Girl With a Pearl Earring" or "Hippie Hippie Shake" would want to be historically inaccurate just so that Cillian could display his own (short) hair.

Don't know why the "Sunshine" folks wanted his hair to be long, but if that's what they saw for the character, they needed extensions because his hair was very short in the back for "The Wind That Shakes the Barley", shot immediately before. Should they have waited six months to a year for his hair to grow out?

What I don't get is why, when it's pretty obvious that Cillian's hair grows at the rate of approximately an inch a day (he doesn't seem at all impaired in the hair department, no), movie people don't let him use his own plummage. His wig in GWAPE was light-years past "joke" (it looked almost as if the hair and makeup folks had stuck it on his head on a dare), he had those silly extensions in "Sunshine"... and now this. C'mon: even Tom Cruise grew his hair out for "Legend"...! ;)

Regardless it's still a bad wig. :D A bad wig and a big budget...hmmmm.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. Desperately excited if I may say so myself.

I like the long hair too. The middle part does crack me up though. But I like it. And you're right, it's completely authentic.

I don't know ... I kind of like his long hair. And it looks pretty perfect for that time. Sienna's perfect teeth? Not so much.
