New Dark Knight photo, first footage

While Cillian’s participation in The Dark Knight has yet to be officially confirmed, another photograph has surfaced that seems to show Cillian on the Dark Knight set sitting with several characters dressed as Batman, in the same parking garage setting in which he was last spied. The release of these pictures was not sanctioned by Warner Brothers, and their legal department has issued cease and desist letters to some sites that posted the photo, so we will not post it here. However, you can see photos taken by lucky fans who witnessed The Dark Knight filming and got to meet Cillian in Chicago in our Fandom section.

On 11 August, a Dark Knight panel was held at Wizard World Chicago where the first the first official film footage was shown followed by a Q&A. Participants from the film were director Chris Nolan, writers Jonah Nolan and David Goyer, and stars Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman. WizardUniverse.com has details of the film footage and a transcript of the Q&A.

The mysterious Zonad revealed!

The mystery surrounding Cillian’s appearance in John Carney’s Zonad, a film long listed on IMDb as a 2003 release, appears to have been solved. According to a feature on Carney in Variety, Zonad was a homemade pilot that never actually saw the light of day, or as producer Ed Guiney calls it, "a glorified read-though on video.” Writer Adam Dawtrey sums up the plot:

It's a quirky comedy about an escaped convict from a Dublin prison, who hides out in a rural village and fools the locals by pretending to be an alien from outer space, dressed in a red plastic suit.

Thanks to the current success of Carney's latest film, Once (in which Cillian was originally going to star), a full-fledged production of Zonad is slated to start production in September. Since Cillian is scheduled to start filming Hippie Hippie Shake in September, it’s unlikely that he’ll be involved with this new version.

As is the case for many of Cillian's lesser-known films, our Body of Work section's Zonad page features a link to where you can see online video clips from it. And we've just added screen captures from the online Zonad clip to the gallery.

A new Sunshine behind-the-scenes photo, our ratings

SunshineDNA is keeping the goodies coming for us fans: we just added a new picture of Cillian to our Sunshine on set gallery.

Speaking of both Sunshine and our Body of Work section, we've just added our customary trio of feature film ratings to our Sunshine page: The CillianSite's overall rating for the film as a whole, our rating of Cillian's performance, and our rating for how much of a must-see the film is for the devoted Cillian Murphy fan. These ratings are averaged from the votes of all the members of The CillianSite Collective, and represent only our humble opinions. Whether you agree or disagree, we invite you to comment here, and to check out our ratings of other feature films. (By the way, you'll notice that six of out of seventeen of Cillian's films on the list are starred; these are the movies we rated at 8 out of 10 or higher.)

And Pierspaul too!

You may have noticed that this blog entry is the first co-written by Pierspaul. Once again, the rest of The CillianSite Collective is very happy to announce that another contributing editor has joined our editorial board, jumping even further into the fray than she already was. Brilliant!
