Still holding out hope for Telepathy?

It's been a long while since we've heard anything definitive about Telepathy. Cillian signed on last year to star as identical twins enlisted in a top-secret intergalactic communication experiment, but then the project dropped off the radar for a while (read more here). Now, screenwriter Stephen Volk has given The CillianSite this scoop:

Telepathy has a new (Irish) producer, David Collins, and a Russian co-producer who came on board at Cannes. The director, Lesley Manning, is planning a second recce in Russia later this month. I believe the shoot is due to begin in Russia in October, but if I hear differently I'll let you know. As with all films at this stage, things are in something of a state of flux.

Volk adds that "Cillian is still attached as far as I know—I have not been told otherwise." However, he cautions that this is only his word since "the writer is excused for never quite knowing exactly what is going on!"

Playing Russian twins just might be the kind of juicy role that Cillian could really sink his teeth into. But since Hippie Hippie Shake is scheduled to begin shooting this autumn (some sources say September), an October shoot in Russia might be difficult for him to manage. Unless, of course, he really does have a twin…

He is also the creator of ITV's popular mini-series Afterlife and the controversial BBC Halloween special Ghostwatch (directed, incidentally, by Lesley Manning).

October is great season in Russia. Not cold, very mild.

I'd die to see him play that part, just imagine twin cillian?! two cillian in a movie.. how awesome is that?

OK for me is like a dream come true!....Cill and Russia! omg! omg!...and twins...Is there any better idea out there in the world! I don't think so!

I think Oct is going to be my MONTH Russians everywhere! wow!

Hippie Hippie Shake is supposed to start filming in September in London so he may not be doing this one.

Starting filming in RUSSIA in OCTOBER?!? Dress warmly, baby boy! None of those form-fitting thin quilty jackets. Think LAYERS. Lots of loose layers. And keep that noggin covered!

(Went into Midwest winter survival mode there for a minute. Sorry!)

That is, if it happens. Sounds like a heck of a sad story. And filming in Russia in the winter, too. Brrrr...!
