Sorry for the brief outage + audio interview

Technical difficulties

Some of you probably noticed that the site was down for a few hours this morning starting at about 5:30am Eastern Time. We're working with our service provider to track down the source of the problem—sorry for the interruption and thanks for reading!

Radio interview

If you missed Stephen Schaefer's interview for The Boston Herald last month, you can catch it again (or read the transcript) via WPS1 Art Radio's Beyond the Subtitles program archive (episode #114). I really enjoyed this interview, especially when Cillian chuckles about the stalker astronaut and talks about whether films have the power to change lives:

"I think our job is to entertain, first and foremost. And if you entertain and you engage, then you have a chance to put across a message. I think as I spoke about earlier, Ken (Loach)'s films only work because you engage and you're entertained and you're emotionally connected with these characters and you invest in them. And so that's the ideal, that you say something intelligent with your film, but also in an engaging way."

And while you're at it, scroll down to episode #54 of Beyond the Subtitles for Cillian's Breakfast on Pluto interview!

Thanks to P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center for hipping us to their free Internet station, WPS1.org!

I think that to receive the personal loans from banks you ought to have a great motivation. But, one time I've got a consolidation loan, just because I was willing to buy a bike.

I also like the BOP interview because he seemed to be more candid in that interview, even though he discusses the same things in most of his interviews. And I love how he curses. It's true what one interviewer said about him in a magazine, how he manages to soften the word fuck. Just goes to show u how special he is!

Love the interview but the icing on the cake is when he said, "Bye bye" at the end. Too cute for words.

You're both so right -- his thoughtfulness always comes through loud and clear.

Cillian is so well-spoken, he's one of the few actors who actually has something to say (despite the fact that he hates interviews)about the films, characters, messages and directors. Just makes him even more unique and great!
