Nerve interview + gallery updates

"You need all sorts in a struggle—you need the intellectuals, but then you need the fighters."
Nerve has a cool new interview with Cillian up in its Film Lounge section. He's sounding a bit more bold than he did last year when discussing the right wing accusations that The Wind That Shakes the Barley exaggerates British atrocities:
"It's not a very glorious part of British history. And the British are pretty sensitive about their army and the Empire in general. Those particular publications are always going to react as we saw. ... [Ken Loach] has history on his side, because no one could contest that the British administration of the time did order these atrocities, and order the troops to behave as they did. So, you know, it's irrefutable."
Of the (highly specious) comparisons of Loach to the influential director and Nazi propagandist Leni Riefenstahl, Cillian said,
"It's kind of laughable. ...I asked Ken, 'How can we talk about this movie, and where we come from, and all that...' And he said, 'Look. If it's a case of the firefighter, and the fire, you're on the side of the firefighter.' In the face of all this reactionary stuff, he's always going to come off better, you know?"
Other interesting quotes from Cillian on Neil Jordan's Michael Collins, on his amazing experience at Cannes last year, on baddie type-casting, and more in Akiva Gottlieb's interview.
