Barley opens strong + Cillian at I.F.I.

Barley scores again

Good news: The Wind That Shakes the Barley's first weekend in limited release in North America was a success. Despite being in only nine theatres, it made $75,311, which was considered very "solid" by the Associated Press. Seems like the St. Patrick's Day weekend release was a good press strategy; reviews and feature stories were everywhere, and I could swear I heard Cillian's voice every time I turned on National Public Radio, which was a nice change of pace!

Cillian at the Irish premiere of Sunshine

Sunshine makes its Irish debut at the Irish Film Institute in Dublin on 26 March at 7:45 pm, and Cillian will be there to participate in a post-screening Q&A along with director Danny Boyle and producer Andrew Macdonald. Ticket information is at www.ifibooking.ie.

Nope, sadly not london either. I'm in the middle of nowhere FILMwise.I live in Belgium, but i went over to london to see Love Song and the Eragon premiere and other events. Its quite easy to get to dublin too actually with Ryanair!
But hey,at least we get Sunshine sooner than some other people, one lucky thing!:)

Kerry, I wish that a lot! By any chance, are you in London? In the latest blog I posted info about a contest for a pre-screening there. And yes, we'll definitely be on the lookout for new pictures of the Dublin event!

Good luck for you, Julia! It's not coming up my way until the 30th. I'm really looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.
