Cillian's second child + more Edge reviews

Belated confirmation of Cillian's second son's birth

The July 2008 issue of Harper's Bazaar U.K. contains an article with Cillian, "No More Mr Nasty Guy," which officially confirms the rumor that Cillian does indeed have another son, born last year. The article does not give the child's name, but as we know how private Cillian likes to keep his family life, we won't hold our breath on finding out soon. We are working on obtaining a copy of the magazine so that we may add the scans and text to our Gallery and Press archive.

Reviews begin to roll in for Edge

As we approach the U.K. release of The Edge of Love, reviews of the film are rapidly being published.

The BBC gives the most positive review, as it praises the film for it's honest portrayal of Dylan Thomas. "[Matthew Rhys'] Dylan reflects all the wit, wisdom, machismo, grumpiness and vulnerability of the real man." Although this review did not rate the film, the reviewer gave a poetic overview of Edge through a critique of the director's work:

Ambitious, intelligent and seldom heavy-handed, John Maybury's direction allows the grand themes of love, friendship and genius, the horrors of war and its aftermaths, to float along on an uneasy, queasy sea of booze, sex and sudden violence.

Entertainmentwise.com gave Edge a three out of five star review, stating:

As long as you don't mind Dylan Thomas and his poetry taking a bit of a back seat, you will happily drift through a slick, well shot, competently-acted British film, though it does feel a little 'TV.'

The People.co.uk's Bacon at the Movies gave The Edge of Love yet another three star rating, citing "bad accents" as a major fault. The reviewer also felt that Cillian was "largely given nothing to do" in his role of Captain William Killick.

The best of these reviews and more will soon be added to the Press archive.

Thanks to uCillian.com for posting the Harper's Bazaar U.K. article!
