Watching the Detectives is a go, first news about the plot

How funny! I spoke too soon (see today's previous post), because here comes some exciting news: Cillian and Lucy Liu will definitely begin shooting Watching the Detectives in New York this week. And here's the first news on the plot from Reuters:
Detectives centers on a film noir buff (Murphy) whose world is turned upside down when a beautiful, unpredictable femme fatale (Liu) provides far more adventure than he ever experienced—and possibly more than he can handle.
Detectives will mark the directorial debut of Paul Soter, of Broken Lizard, the comedy group who wrote and starred in Super Troopers. I hope that means Detectives will be funny—I guess I should see Super Troopers or Beerfest, the Broken Lizard flick that's coming out at the end of August.
