Entertainment Weekly mention, more Barley fuss, Sunshine goes Underworld

[Note: This was originally published by cillianONLINE, which has been inactive since September 2006.]

Cillian is mentioned in the June 9th issue of Entertainment Weekly, which has a story on the Cannes Film Festival, though the mag showed an incredible lack of taste by placing his photo right on the fold. But here's the mini-review of The Wind That Shakes the Barley:

In a straight-ahead historical drama, the socially conscious filmmaker (Ken Loach) builds a complex story of political struggle in 1920s Ireland. Red Eye's Cillian Murphy makes an unlikely revolutionary, gentle and wee, but he bears down with a conviction that would make Coppola's Marie Antoinette run for the dessert table.

For those of you following the political controversy surrounding Barley, here's a few more articles. There are dueling essays at The Guardian from columnist George Monbiot and historian Ruth Dudley Edwards. Also, The Hampstead & Highgate Express and The Socialist Worker both have interesting Loach interviews. The latter article is a little overblown (since when does Loach have "huge worldwide popularity"?), but it has quotes I haven't seen anywhere else; still, if you don't want to know too many details about the plot, you may want to skip it.

And here's some interesting news: Gia at SunshineDNA.com just announced that Underworld will be doing the music for Sunshine.
