Synopsis:

In the fifth Batman feature film, director Christopher Nolan weaves back and forth through time and from Gotham to Tibet and back again to flesh out the genesis of the 20th century's most mysterious icon. Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) abandons his magnificent home and heritage, disappearing into an international underworld in an attempt to understand the criminal mind. Only after studying with Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson) does he choose a path that leads him back to save his father's beloved Gotham from corruption. Upon his return, Wayne finds old and new enemies ready to make war, including cunning crime boss Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson), the chilling Dr. Jonathan Crane (Cillian Murphy), and Ra's Al Ghul (Ken Watanabe), the leader of the League of Shadows. Luckily, this incarnation of Batman has valuable allies in his corner, including Detective Gordon (Gary Oldman), scientist Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), and of course, Alfred (Michael Caine), the trusted butler who plays squire to this Dark Knight.

Cast also includes Katie Holmes, Rutger Hauer, and Linus Roache.
